The next generation of solar? We’re watching closely.

Perovskite-silicon tandem panels promise a step-change in efficiency. Here’s why we’re not recommending them to clients just yet.

At Solvexa, we are following the development of perovskite-silicon tandem solar panels with great anticipation, but also with healthy caution.

On paper, this technology has the potential to be around 10 percentage points more efficient than today’s leading N-Type TOPCon panels, making it one of the most exciting advancements the solar industry has seen in decades.

However, efficiency is only part of the story.

What still needs to be proven

Before any new technology earns our recommendation, it must demonstrate its performance in real-world conditions over the long term. Perovskite technology is still proving itself in key areas such as:

  • Long-term durability
  • Moisture resistance
  • UV stability
  • Degradation performance over time

The solar industry has learned that the highest-performing technology on day one isn’t always the best-performing technology after 25 years.

Our commitment stays the same

While we are excited by the potential of perovskite-silicon panels, we remain committed to the same principle that underpins every Solvexa project: proven quality and reliability.

We’ll continue to monitor developments closely and look forward to the day when this promising technology has the track record to match its impressive performance figures.
